Doctors for Nurses – Victims of the Recession

Sunday, December 28th, 2008

BrainDrainDeveloping countries almost ran out of doctors as they flocked to go to nursing school for higher pay abroad. That seemed to be a good idea, well, till the recession took hold and circled the globe sending the thousands nurses and doctors back home left back at square one. This is a common occurrence when a bubble is formed and people take it too seriously as with the case of these doctors, they had no choice but to return home back to practices they left wasting money in transportation and other expenses.
The bubble burst when the global economy almost ground to a halt with most job markets freezing all hiring. there are still jobs but quite hard to come by and the demand for migrant workers diminished with businesses reserving jobs for citizens who also lost jobs. These professionals at least had established careers, they only have to re-kindle their past and re-adjust to life as it really is.
